Hello and welcome to the site.

My name is Adrian John Blant,  dry stone waller and stone carver, based in Ryedale on the western edge of the North York Moors.

I began trading back in 2004 having previously gained experience through informal training and employment and generally just getting stuck in.

Since then I have undertaken public works for local and borough councils, carried out restoration work on grade 1 and 2 listed buildings, taught college students, produced bespoke carvings and memorials, transformed many garden spaces and built countless lengths of dry stone wall in the beautiful landscape of North Yorkshire, all the time gaining experience and confidence with many types of stone.

Much further from home- I've worked extensively in the States as part of a stone work crew under the direction of an internationally renowned British land artist.

Alongside dry stone walling I have also focused on letter cutting and relief carving,

having gained experience with a monumental mason and attended a course in letter cutting with The Orton Trust.

The Yorkshire landscape, wildlife and North country traditions influence my carving work.

The combination of dry stone walling and carving is something I'm always striving to develop.

Paving, stone set and cobble laying is another aspect I specialize in.

Available for commission, you can expect hand crafted work showing originality in design and an eye for detail, I love working with natural stone- in both the tradtional and the contempory sense, in a wide range of applications, always welcoming a new challenge.

The geographical area I cover encompasses the North York Moors and coast, Ryedale, and the Yorkshire Wolds, though I am quite prepared to travel further afield if travel or accommodation is factored in.

I have good links with quarries, suppliers, trades people, artists and plant contractors.
